Two South Tipperary Schools  have been successful in their appeals against the possible loss of teachers

The two schools are Newtown Upper national school and Clogheen central national school.

They were concerned that they would lose teachers due to having too few pupils on the cut off date in September of last year.

However, according to Senator Denis Landy the appeal process took into account pupils that joined the two schools after the deadline for assessment.
