€1 million has been secured for the redevelopment of Clonmel Greyhound Stadium following discussions with Bord na gCon.
The re-development will include the construction of a new restaurant on site as well as the upgrading and enhancing of the current facilities at the track.
The commitment is being given by the Irish Greyhound Board, while there will also be a significant amount of further money raised privately.
Construction plans for the project are already prepared. Making the announcement this morning Fine Gael Deputy Tom Hayes says he expects to see the entire project completed in time for the 2013 coursing season
