Road Services are to be hit in South Tipperary’s Budget for 2012.  Speaking on Tipperary Mid West Radio today the Cathaoirleach of the County Council, Michael Fitzgerald said that a total of €138,500 is to be taken from the allocation for that particular budget,  given that savings to the overall budget of €1.5million are needed.

Other measures decided by the local authority members yesterday include an increase in water charges, €10,000 cut from tourism promotion, €50,000 cut from training for the fire service and cuts in technology and IT Training in the council.

Meanwhile Cashel Town Council has also raised its water rates.
