345

Residents in the area surrounding Ardfinnan are without water today due to a burst water main. This is a new leak following outages and overnight restrictions caused by other leaks yesterday.

Customers in Clogheen, Cahir Ardfinnan, Newcastle, Grange, Knocklofty, Marlfield and surrounding areas are all affected by the latest outage. Uisce Eireann says it’s crews are working to restore supply as soon as possible.

From mid day today water tankers are to be made available at the following locations; Ardfinnan; Newcastle; Clogheen; Knocklofty; Grange; Goatenbridge; Poulmucka Cross; Tipperary Road & Rosemount Estate, Cahir.  As a precautionary measure, it is recommended that any members of the public who obtain water from a tanker or bowser boil the water before use.

Uisce Eireann is to provide a further update later this morning. The Scheme had been subject to overnight restrictions last night from 9pm until 6.30am today(Wednesday) to allow the reservoirs to replenish. Given the new leak it is possible that night time restrictions will be imposed again tonight.
