Tipperary Council CEO Officially Retires Today

Tipperary County Council CEO Joe MacGrath is to officially retire today.

The Nenagh native has been County Tipperary CEO since 2014 and prior to that served as County Manager for North Tipperary (2013-2014) & South Tipperary (2013 -2014) and also previously worked as Manager of Galway City and served as Director of Services in Kerry county Council.  

The two separate administrative areas of North and South Tipperary were unified during Mr MacGrath’s term as CEO as part of Local Government Reform.

The county was first divided into North and South Riding in 1838 and two formal separate councils were in operation between 1899 and 2014.

Deputy CEO and Director of Services for Housing Sinead Carr is now acting CEO of Tipperary County Council until a permanent appointment is made.
