The dedicated website intended to inform the public of the design details and traffic management plan for upcoming road works in Tipperary town is now live.  The website name  is n74tipperarytown.ie

The contractor is also providing a contact telephone number –  087 3983546. The project was given planning permission in a contentious council meeting in 2021 which voted 6 to 5 to delay works on the Main street of Tipperary town. The approved project will cover a distance of 1,250m from Danny Ryan’s Music Shop to a point close to the 60km speed limit signs at the eastern side of town.

Glas Civil engineering are the main contractors for the project  which is co-funded by Uisce Eireann with an estimated cost of over €5M. No details of a traffic management  plan have been published as of now – the contractors are currently working to the rear of Sean Allen Terrace on a  major drainage  upgrade which is expected to take a month to complete. Crews will then move on to the N74 Cashel road however so far the contractor has not indicated at which point the works will begin or if the Pedestrian Crossing at Maxol can be repaired immediately.

Drivers are advised of a works compound recently established between the Irish Wheelchair Association building and St Michael’s graveyard on the Cashel road and caution is advised in the area due to the movement of work vehicles and personnel.
