Tipperary Roads Policing Unit has intercepted several vehicles for a range of offenses in recent days.

Garda now have access to real time data about insurance, Driving Licence and NCT details at roadside.

Garda seized a car just outside Thurles after confirming via the App that the vehicle did not have insurance.  Despite the driver’s protests that he intended to acquire insurance next week the driver will now face a court appearance. Garda are warning that driving without insurance can lead to a 2-year disqualification on a first offence and a substantial fine from the Courts.

Meanwhile in Tipperary town Garda found a vehicle with multiple issues that infringe the law.

The vehicle  was stopped after it was  recorded driving over 70km/h in a 50km zone.

After examining the vehicle  Garda established that the tax and insurance had expired over 10 years ago. Fixed charge notices and a court appearance will follow for the driver involved.
