A meeting to discuss the idea of a community rail service in East Limerick is to be held tonight. (Monday 15th April)
The event will take place at Pallasgreen Community Centre at 8pm with Green MEP Grace O Sullivan and Rob O’Donnell – Green Party local election candidate and Brian Leddin T.D. and Candidate for Mayor of Limerick all in attendance.
The current service for East Limerick includes two rail lines running through however none of the trains which pass through its villages and towns are able to stop and service the area.
MEP O Sullivan says the Green Party wants to change this and believes this meeting will allow the opportunity to explore the possibilities of reopening train stations in Limerick on the main Dublin – Cork and Limerick Junction to Limerick lines.
