Tipperary town Boxing Club is seeking assistance for five of it’s members taking part in the National Boxing Championships in National Stadium in Dublin next week. Head Coach, Chris Toomey, says the club will have boxers competing in Dublin every day except Thursday. The club is going to travel up each day as it says it cannot afford overnight accommodation. The club issued an appeal for support to cover fuel costs and has received a number of offers to date.
Mr Toomey says the club relies on donations to keep the club in operation and without additional support the 5 members will not be able to compete. The appeal for support was made on the club’s Facebook page Tipperary Boxing Club. The club is based in Kingston’s Warehouse on Blind street.
To date a number of individuals and businesses have offered help including Clean and Shine Tipperary, Bernadine and Katie’s School of Motoring, Tipperary Power Washing, The Carvery Restaurant, O’Heney Safety and Larry Creamer from the Climb Galteemore Group.
