A new bus shelter for Westbound Route 55 and 855 buses is to be installed where the two grey flower planters are located.

Work is ongoing to install two new bus shelters on the Link Road in Tipperary town.

The existing shelter outside SuperValu has been removed and the new shelter is not expected to be installed until Wednesday April 3rd.

Works on electrical supply and new kerbing is underway at present.

In addition a new Bus Shelter will be installed close to Kissane’s Fuels for Westbound buses.

The work is being undertaken by Eugene Fallon Plant hire on behalf of Tipperary county Council.

It is expected to be late April before both shelters are fully installed – at that stage the existing bus stop on Abbey Street will be discontinued.

The work is the result of a motion from Cllr Anne Marie Ryan seeking a shelter at the Abbey street bus stop.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland determined that there was not sufficient space at the site for a shelter leading to the decision to relocate the bus stop to the Link Road location.
