Tara Brady from Ballina is the new Tipperary Rose of Tralee.

Ms Brady was selected at the Rose Selection event at the Anner Hotel Thurles last night with Ollie Turner acting as Master of Ceremonies

Ms Brady is 23 and entered the contest on behalf of Mac Conmara Heritage Consulting, Ballina.

There were 22 contestants for the title of Tipperary Rose and under reforms to the competition Tara will be the Tipperary Rose until 2026 as Tipperary now selects a Rose every two years and the nominee is automatically included in the live TV show from the Tralee without taking part in qualifying rounds.

There was a huge attendance at the Anner Hotel last night as Thurles Hair Salon Collab took responsibility for hair styling for all of the contestants.

Barnardos Child and family support charity were the beneficiaries of a raffle on the night. The selection ends the reign of Fethard native Aisling O’Donovan.

The Festival in Tralee takes place from August 16th to 20th, 2024.
