A new group to support Dementia carers will launch next month in West Tipperary.
The Community Dementia Champions and Facilitators will meet every Thursday in the Day Hospital located within the Community Hospital of the Assumption in Thurles, commencing Thursday, April 11th until Mat 16th.
Meetings will focus on self-care, connecting with feelings, validation therapy/techniques, ethical dilemmas and the importance of medication compliance.
This will be a safe place to discuss, support, listen and understand the different roles played by families/friends of loved ones caring for people living with dementia.
