Voting is under way on two referendums on Family and Care provisions in the Irish Constitution with almost 3.5 million citizens eligible to cast a ballot including 131,750 registered voters in county Tipperary.
149 polling stations across county Tipperary opened at 7am and will remain open until 10pm.
Voters will be given two ballot papers in today’s referendum votes.
There will be a White one for the Family Amendment and a Green one for the Care Amendment.
It is not necessary to bring your polling card, but the Electoral Commission’s advice is that it is helpful to bring it.
A valid form of ID is necessary, such as a passport, driving license or student ID card.
Counting of votes will get under way at 9am tomorrow – the national results will be announced at Dublin Castle with two separate declarations of the results, expected tomorrow afternoon or evening.
Votes cast in county Tipperary will be counted at the Presentation Secondary School Sports Complex in Thurles – the public can attend the count.
All national vote details will be shared on the website referendum.ie as each constituency makes it’s results declaration.
