Tipperary Athlete Sharlene Mawdsley is to compete in the semi final of the 400m World Indoor Athletic championships tonight.
The Newport athlete finished second in today’s heat in a time of 52.23 seconds.
Ms Mawdsley says her target is to achieve a new personal best tonight seeking a time lower than 51.91 and hopes that may bring her through to the final.
The race is set for 8.50pm tonight.
