Junk Kouture World Finals To Take Place Tonight In Monaco

The World Finals of the Junk Kouture competition are taking place this evening in Monaco.

Eabha Byrnes from St Annes School in Tipperary town is one of Ireland’s representatives. Her outfit, Drowning Duchess, is a head to toe ensemble created by using plastic and rubber devices used to aid flotation for swimmers.

Tonight’s event at the Grimaldi Forum will showcase sixty finalists from around the globe unveiling their ingenious, eco-friendly couture creations in a dazzling and high energy showcase.

The global competition is intended to motivate the next generation of forward thinking designers to ignite their creativity and innovation for a more sustainable future. Over 200 participants spanning 20 nationalities across 5 continents will come together to honour resourceful design.

Ms Byrnes is accompanied in Monaco by her parents and teacher Ms Helen Ryan.
