The Bishop’s Buttery Restaurant – The Cashel Palace Hotel

The Bishops Buttery restaurant in the Cashel Palace Hotel has been awarded a Michelin Star. It is the first such accolade for Stephen Hayes’s kitchen which opened just two years ago.  The fine-dining restaurant offers contemporary Irish cuisine with much of the produce sourced from farmers, growers, and artisanal food producers in Tipperary.  Director of Culinary at Cashel Palace Hotel, Stephen Hayes congratulated his team and Head Chef of The Bishop’s Buttery, Stefan McEnteer, and says the award is an important recognition of the hard work of staff and is wonderful for team morale, reflecting the ambitions both front and back of house.

Stephen was formerly Head Chef of the Michelin-starred restaurant at The Cliff House Hotel, Ardmore county Waterford, and also worked at the Michelin three-starred Restaurant De Librije in HollandHead Chef at The Bishop’s Buttery Stefan McEnteer previously honed his skills under the mentorship of renowned Irish chefs Neven Maguire and Derry Clarke.  Adriaan Bartels, General Manager, Cashel Palace Hotel says he is delighted to know that The Bishop’s Buttery has been acknowledged by Michelin as a high-quality restaurant.The announcement was made at a ceremony held at The Midland Hotel in Manchester on Sunday, and also marked the 50th anniversary of the renowned Dining Guide.  Ireland has five two star and 16 one star restaurants in the 2024 Michelin Guide. Terre restaurant in  Castlemartyr Resort Co Cork is  Ireland’s newest Two Michelin Star destination, after scoring its first Star last year.
