Parts Of Tipperary To Be Affected By Water Supply Restrictions

587

Uisce Eireann customers will face restrictions on water supply in parts of Tipperary again this evening. Uisce Eireann reports that although reservoir levels are increasing, night-time water restrictions will remain in place on the Galtee Regional Scheme east of Rosegreen from 8pm this evening (Friday 26 January) until 7am tomorrow morning (Saturday 27 January). These restrictions are essential to maintain a daytime supply following operational difficulties due to the recent cold weather. The situation will again be reviewed tomorrow.

The areas impacted are Tullamaine, Coolmoyne, Barretstown, Derryluskan, Graigue Lower, Mocklershill and surrounding areas. Rosegreen village will not be impacted by the restrictions.

With the freezing temperatures of last week replaced by much milder conditions over last weekend and this week, the rapid thaw has led to a further increase in leaks and bursts throughout the network. Uisce Éireann is appealing to the public to report leaks and help reduce water loss to protect local supplies across Tipperary.

Customers can get information on water supply issues in their local area by entering their location on the Service Updates section of water.ie or by following Uisce Éireann on X and Facebook. The customer care centre is available 24/7 at 1800 278 278.
