459

Night-time water restrictions will be in place on the Galtee Regional Scheme from 8pm this evening (Thursday 25 January) until 7am tomorrow morning (Friday 26 January).

Uisce Eireann says these restrictions are essential to maintain a daytime supply following operational difficulties due to the recent cold weather – with pipe bursts being reported.  The situation will be reviewed tomorrow, and further updates will be issued.

The areas impacted are Tullamain, Coolmoyne, Barrettstown, Derryluskan, Graigue Lower, Mocklershill and surrounding areas.  Rosegreen village will not be impacted by the restrictions.

Uisce Éireann is appealing to the public to report leaks and help reduce water loss to protect local supplies across Tipperary. The public are asked to check for leaks in the home and carry out necessary leak repairs. Farmers are asked to check their service pipes, drinking troughs and outbuildings. Repairing leaks can help to prevent issues like reduced water pressure or water supply disruption in addition Uisce Eireann is asking for the public to try to reduce overall demand by preventing avoidable loss of water and conserving water.
