Community Gardaí in Tipperary town are inviting the public to avail of a property marking service on Friday January 26th.
The event will be held at Tipperary Mart and will commence at 11.00am.
Garda are promoting the service as a means of deterring theft but also to help return any recovered stolen items to their rightful owners.Garda use a special piece of equipment to mark property with the owner’s Eircode.
Those interested in availing of the free service are asked to bring a maximum of five items to be marked and their Eircode to the free event on January 26th.
The public are also advised to use the Garda Property App which allows them to take a photo and record details such as model numbers and date of purchase of their items.
Details recorded on the App can be useful if items are stolen or recovered to establish a full description and verify ownership.
