Tipperary Cahir Cashel MD will hold it’s final monthly meeting for 2023 on December 19th at the Tipperary town council office at 11am. The eleven councillors have two motions for consideration and will also be given an update on the N24 Cahir to Limerick Junction Project. Land surveys for the project are ongoing which is one stage ahead of the N24 Waterford to Cahir project being managed by Kilkenny county council.
Cllr Andy Moloney is requesting that the Council remove the pinch points along the R670 at Kileenabutler and between Shamrock Lodge and Rochestown due to the number of accidents on the road in recent years. Cllr Anne Marie Ryan is asking that the council assess safety concerns on the N24 on the Cahir side of Bansha village. The motion notes that there has been 2 recent vehicle and pedestrian accidents that impacted those involved and the property of local residents.
In addition, the Councillors are asked to approve some additional allocations under the Festivals and Events scheme and the report recommending the Taking in Charge of the Rockspings Estate in Kilross will be considered. A Taking in Charge application for the five house estate was submitted in 2016 but was significantly delayed due a subsequent agreement between Uisce Eireann and the Department of Housing and Local Government in respect of estates with developer provided water services. The developer is a resident on the estate and says the handling of the taking in charge process would deter anyone from becoming a developer.
