Gardaí says enquiries are ongoing after the discovery of a large amount of raw meat in West Tipperary.
The incident is now the subject of a joint investigation involving the Tipperary County Council’s Veterinary Officer, the Department of Agriculture, Food & the Marine and the Food Safety Authority of Ireland also.
The gruesome discovery was made by local residents on a roadside between Emly and Cullen last Friday.
Marion O Neill, Senior Executive Officer at Tipperary County Council’s Environment & Climate Action Section has confirmed that the material was removed from the location at Longstone, Cullen by a local knackery and disposed of on receipt of the complaint.
Investigations to identify those responsible for the dumping is underway.
