Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys today announced the allocation of almost €5M from a new fund to support Sports Clubs in rural areas. Sports clubs in Rural areas could receive grants of up to €50,000 to upgrade facilities or to add floodlights or astro turf pitches. A number clubs in Tipperary have been allocated funding:
Gortnahoe-Glengoole GAA Club including Gortnahoe NS and Gortnahoe Playground is awarded €50,000, similarly Ballingarry GAA is awarded €50,000, Upperchurch Drombane GAA is to receive €45,000, while Galtee Rovers St Pecaun’s is to receive €46,900, Lattin Cullen GAA is allocated almost €19,000 towards the installation of universal access toilets with baby changing facilities while Killea GAA club is allocated €16,200.
7 clubs in Limerick, Athea Utd, Ballylanders, Mountcollins, Galtee Gaels, Galbally, Cappamore and Blackrock GAA clubs are to share a total of €263,000 under the fund.
