Bansha Group To Raise Funds For Headstone For Community Member Who Died During Pandemic

A group has come together in Bansha to raise funds for a headstone for a member of the community that died during the Pandemic.  The group is led by John O’Heney and includes Noreen O’Halloran and Carolyn Fanning.

The aim is to collect funds as a community in memory of Frankie McDonnell.

John O’Heney says Mr McDonnell had no family locally so the community action is necessary as there is no-one else to do it for him.

For the next few weeks a red bucket will be available in Nellie’s Bar in Bansha to accept donations to fund the memorial.

Mr O’Heney says an appropriate engraving will be agreed that includes mention that the headstone was put up by his friends.
