Three Victims Of Cashel Collision Laid To Rest Yesterday

President Higgins was among the mourners at the funerals of three members of the Reilly Family in Cashel yesterday. Thomas and Bridget Reilly, both aged in their 40s, and their three-year-old grandson Tom Reilly had been back seat passengers in a car that crashed into a wall outside Cashel August 29th.  The funeral mass was held at St John the Baptist Church in Cashel led by Fr Enda Brady, Parish Priest of Cashel and Rosegreen.

Prayers were said for Diane and Tom, the parents of three-year-old Tom, who were hospitalised after the crash. Tom’s mother Diane attended the funeral while the boy’s father remains in hospital.

Prayers were also said for people who have died, been injured or affected by cars accidents and for the emergency services and “all who care for us in times of trouble and need”.

Students and staff of Cashel Community School provided the music for the funeral mass which was followed by the  burials  in Cormac’s Cemetery, Cashel.

Commandant Claire Mortimer Aide De Camp attended on behalf of the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar. Books of condolence for the family are available in the Cashel Library, and in the Council office in Tipperary town and on the Council website.
