Tipperary Upgraded To Orange Weather Warning, As Storm Betty Lands This Evening

County Tipperary is now included in a Status Orange Wind and Rain warning as Storm Betty is to hit the south of Ireland this evening and through the early hours of Saturday morning.

In county Tipperary the Status Orange warning for rainfall is valid between 1pm today and  11pm tonight while the Status Orange wind warning is valid from 9pm tonight until 3 am tomorrow.

The rain warning issued by Met Eireann includes Tipperary, Clare, Kerry, Limerick, Galway Cork, Waterford, Kilkenny, Wexford and Wicklow. Heavy rain with thundery downpours on Friday and Friday night combined with very strong winds on coasts at times are forecast.
Met Eireann is warning of south to southwest gales with severe gusts of up to 130 km/hr. Spells of heavy rain and possible coastal flooding that could cause localised flooding, difficult travelling conditions, structural damage, falling trees and power outages. The Status Orange wind warning is for  Tipperary, Waterford, Cork, Kilkenny,  Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow.
