The Road Safety Authority (RSA) and An Garda Síochána are issuing a stark warning that years of road safety progress is being undone.

It follows new figures which reveal that road deaths in the first half of 2023 are the worst for six years.

100 road deaths have occurred so far this year, an increase of 9 compared to last year with 4 lives being lost on the roads of Co. Tipperary.

The data shows that 649 serious injuries have occurred on Irish roads in 2023 as of 23 July 2023.
