Galtee Regional Public Water Supply Boil Notice Lifted

Uisce Éireann and Tipperary County Council wish to notify customers supplied by the Galtee Regional Public Water Supply that the Boil Water Notice issued on Friday, 14 July is now lifted with immediate effect.

The notice was originally issued due to increased turbidity impacting the treatment processes at the water treatment plant.

The notice was put in place to protect the health of approximately 15,564 customers supplied by the Galtee Regional Public Water Supply in all areas of the supply which include: Emly, Lattin, Ballinard, Cullen, Ballywire, Kilross, Limerick Junction, Monard, Lisvarnane, Rosadrehid, Bansha, Tankerstown, Kilfeacle, Golden, Cashel, Rosegreen, New Inn and surrounding areas.

All consumers on the Galtee Regional Public Water Supply can now resume normal use of the water supply for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth.

Meanwhile the Boil Water Notice for customers supplied by the Burncourt Regional and Burncourt Ballylooby public water scheme is now lifted with immediate effect.

Earlier today Uisce Eireann also lifted the Notice on the Glenary Public Water Scheme. For now, the Boil water notices on the Galtee Regional, Ardfinnan and Thurles Regional Water Schemes remain in effect.

The notice for the Burncourt Regional and Burncourt Ballylooby Public Water Scheme was originally issued due to operational issues at the water treatment plant.

The notice affected 3,620 customers in Burncourt, Ballyporeen, Clogheen, Ballylooby, Mitchelstown Road in Cahir, and surrounding areas as well as customers on the Kiltankin and Clonmore South group water schemes.

All consumers on the Burncourt Regional and Burncourt Ballylooby public water supplies can now resume normal use of the water supply for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth.

Uisce Éireann and Tipperary County Council are also extending thanks to their customers for their patience, co-operation and assistance during this Boil Water Notice and says it greatly regrets any inconvenience caused to homes and businesses in the community
