One Young Man Dead, Four Others Injured In Crash Outside Ballykisteen

A young man died and four other people were injured, one seriously, in a two-car collision on the N24 near Ballykisteen that occurred shortly before 9pm on Saturday night. It is understood that the deceased man is from the Tipperary town area and is a member of the Defence Forces. The man was a passenger in one of the cars. The driver of that car and another passenger, both male, were taken to University Hospital Limerick, where the passenger is said to be in a serious condition. Two people in the second car were also taken to UHL, with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Fire and Ambulance services in addition to Garda attended the scene. The road re-opened on Sunday following a forensic investigation of the scene.  Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses to contact Tipperary Garda Station on 062 80670, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station. Garda are especially seeking any dashcam footage from drivers travelling in the area between Ballykisteen Hotel and Monard between 8.30pm and 9.15pm on Saturday July 15th.
