Free Heart Health Clinic To Visit Tipperary Town Next Week

The Irish Heart Foundation Mobile Testing Clinic will be at the Tipperary Town Library on Monday July 10th.

The free service is available between 10.30am and 3.30pm. Members of the public are encouraged to avail of free blood pressure and heart pulse rate checks.

Many people are unaware that they have high blood pressure which can cause serious health issues.  64% of people over 50 years old in Ireland have high blood pressure which is a leading cause of stroke, heart disease and heart attacks. Regular monitoring of blood pressure is encouraged by the Irish Heart Foundation.

A pulse check could help detect atrial fibrillation, an abnormal heartbeat which can lead to heart damage or a stroke. By having both checked a person can establish if they need to see their GP for more tests before a diagnosis is made – the IHF says with early diagnosis, atrial fibrillation is treatable.

Anyone interested in availing of the service is asked to call the Library Service to make an appointment. The number to call is 052 616 6126.
