A local pharmacist is encouraging people to get their blood pressure tested, particularly those over 45 years old.
High blood pressure is often called a silent killer as there’s no specific symptoms for people to recognise.
Anne Marie O Halloran based in Oola says checking blood pressure is a very easy process and can be done in a chemist or during a GP appointment.
Ms O Halloran says for those who have high blood pressure, there’s a variety of treatments so if one gives side effects patients should try a different product.
