This year’s Leaving Certificate results will be released on Friday August 25th. The State Examinations Commission is working to ensure the results can be released as early as possible while also accommodating a second sitting of the exams for candidates unable to participate in the main exams due to bereavement or major injury or illness.
A second sitting will be held between the end of the June exams and August 25th.
A special post marking adjustment of the results is to be included this year to ensure that there is no “cliff edge” between this year’s outcomes and those of last year. This is to ensure that students who completed their Leaving Certificate exams in different years can compete fairly for places on third level courses.
This adjustment factor is also to be in place next year to some extent as the class of 2024 experienced disruption to teaching and learning as a result of the pandemic, including not having participated in Junior Cycle examinations.
