Council Seeks Applicants For Biodiversity Officer Role

Tipperary County Council is seeking applicants for a new position of Biodiversity officer. The role will be on a three-year contract initially and has a salary scale of between €54,000 and €76,000 – the appointee will start at the lower point.

The Biodiversity Officer will promote, manage and co-ordinate biodiversity related activities in the county including the preparation and implementation of the County Tipperary Biodiversity Plan 2023- 2029. The role involves activation of local communities, businesses, schools, and all interested stakeholders and raising awareness of biodiversity in County Tipperary. The Biodiversity Officer will also be responsible for making funding applications and project delivery in relation to biodiversity and be situated within the Planning Directorate of Tipperary County Council.

The Government is supporting the appointment of Biodiversity Officers in each local Authority to help address the Biodiversity Crisis. Full details of the post are available on the Tipperary Council Website and the application closing date is June 8th.
