Two Cars Stolen From Tipperary Town Recovered By Gardaí

Two cars that were stolen in Tipperary Town in the last 24 hours have been recovered by Gardaí.  A red Toyota car was stolen from near the Tipperary Hills overnight.  This car has been recovered in County Limerick.  The second vehicle, a blue Toyota car was recovered in Limerick city earlier on Tuesday morning.  It is suspected that this car was hotwired when it was stolen from the Church Street area sometime between the hours of 11pm and midnight last night.   Garda are to conduct a forensic examination of the vehicle and it will then be returned to the it’s owner. 
Garda in Tipperary town are leading the investigation and are appealing to anyone with information about the theft to contact Tipperary town Garda station on 062 80670.
Garda have recently issued advice to car owners to consider extra security measures for their vehicles if they do not have an inbuilt alarm and immobiliser.  4,000 vehicles were reported stolen in Ireland in 2022. This represents a 52% increase on 2021 and 17% increase on 2019.
