N24 Reopens Following Collision At Barronstown Cross

Four persons were taken to University Hospital Limerick to be treated for what is believed to be non life-threatening injuries following the collision at Barronstown Cross.

Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a two-vehicle road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 11.50am today,

The road is now reopen with a stop and go system is now in place.

Local diversions are in place.

Meanwhile, a local campaign group is currently appealing to Tipperary County Council for safety works at the staggered junction.

Tipperary County Council say they are seeking collision data from Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) while TII says it is awaiting a safety review from Tipperary County Council.

As the road is a national route TII is responsible for the road which is part of the planned N24 road upgrade project currently being led by the Mid-West Road Design office and ARUP Consultants.
