Tipperary Councillor Micheal Anglim is condemning the criminals who drowned two small dogs during a residential burglary in Ardfinnan on Saturday February 11th.
The Fianna Fáil councillor expressed the view that being tied to a tree and horsewhipped would be too good for the culprits.
The Councillor says he is thankful that no member of the household was injured but says no one deserves to have such an experience visited upon them – he described the family involved as highly respected and says such an incident in the quiet village is shocking.
Gardaí in Cahir are appealing for information following the burglary  in which a substantial sum of cash was reported stolen following the incident.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information or anyone who may have noticed any unusual activity in the Castle View area between 8pm on Saturday, 11th February 2023 until 12.30am on Sunday, 12th February 2023, to come forward to them.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Cahir Garda Station on 052 744 5630, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station. No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
