Business owner operators and homeowners in the Tipperary town area are being encouraged to complete a survey in respect of their energy use. The surveys are part of a wider project to develop an Energy Plan for the town – business operators completing the survey could qualify for a voucher for an Energy Audit valued at €2,000. The Energy Plan is currently being developed by consultants hired by the Task force, ORS Limited, and it is expected to be completed later this year. The current survey forms can be found on the Tipperary Revitalisation Task force website and social media platforms – the survey closes on February 24th.
The project is being managed by Gerard Fitzgibbon, the SEAI mentor for Sustainable Energy Communities in Tipperary. Ideally the surveys are intended to identify property owners that will make an application to SEAI for funds for retrofits to heating and energy systems. The initiative is also expected to generate local employment opportunities and building contractors interested in being involved are also asked to contact the Task Force office on Bridge street, Tipperary town.
