Boil Water Notice In Place For Horse And Jockey Public Water Supply

302

Irish Water is reminding customers supplied by the Horse and Jockey Public Water Supply, that the Boil Water Notice issued on 3 September remains in place. Irish Water staff are working to rectify the turbidity issues at the treatment plant. Upgrade works have commenced at the site in order to lift the notice as quickly and as safely as possible, in consultation with the HSE.  The Notice to boil before use impacts approximately 650 customers in the Horse and Jockey, Forgestown, Moycarkey, Curraheen, Ballymurreen, Drumgower, Newtown, and surrounding areas.

In addition, Irish Water is also making longer-term plans for the Horse and Jockey supply to have an entirely new source of raw water by connecting the scheme to the Thurles Regional Water Supply Scheme. This work is expected to commence in late 2023 and a further update will be provided as the project progresses.

Irish Water can be contacted 24 hours every day at 1800 278 278.
