University Hospital Limerick Facing Increasing Overcrowding Problems

University Hospital Limerick continues to face overcrowding problems – today there are 50 admitted patients receiving care on a trolley and a further 22 admitted patients in Limerick are accommodated by adding a trolley to some ward of the hospital.  Cork University Hospital reports 72 patients on trolleys earlier today.  Four patients are reported on trolleys in TUH Clonmel today.

Nationally, 625 admitted patients are waiting for beds this morning, according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch Report.  The nursing union compiles the data from 32 hospitals around the country at 8am each day. 514 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 111 are in wards elsewhere in the relevant hospital.
