Tipperary Well Represented At Irish Restaurant Awards

The 2022 Irish Restaurant Awards in the Munster Region  have been revealed – the winners will now progress to the National Finals in Dublin on September 19th.

Tipperary award winners  in the 16 categories came from several different parts of the county.

Cashel  had multiple winners in the Cashel Palace Hotel, Mikey Ryans Bar and Kitchen, Saffron Indian  and  Chez Hans – with the latter scooping the Best Restaurant Category. 

Cashel Palace had winners in the Best Chef, Stephen Hayes,  Best Hotel & Guesthouse and Best Newcomer.  Mikey Ryans Bar and Kitchen won for  Best Gastro Pub in Tipperary.  Saffron Indian Cuisine won the Best Free From Category.

Thurles had three winners with Mitchel House winning Best Customer Service while  Naomi’s  on Friar Street won for Best Café in Tipperary.   Ranna Ghor Indian Restaurant won the best World Cuisine Category

Krimo Birem won the award for Best Restaurant Manager in Tipperary  –  Lava Rock Restaurant in Cahir

The Best Wine Experience in Tipperary was provided by Mani Restaurant, Clonmel

The Best Pub Award went to The Thatch in Cloneen while the Best Casual Dining Award went to De Roiste Bar and Restaurant , Stonepark  near Terryglass. 

Best Emerging Irish Cuisine went to The Old Convent  Country House Hotel in Clogheen

The Award for Most Sustainable Practice went to Dooks Fine Foods in Fethard.

Peter and Lorraine Randall, Ayle Foods won the Award for Best Local Food Hero as members of the Tipperary Food Producers Group – during the pandemic the couple launched Neighbour Food in Tipperary town.
