Social Democrats Tipperary Call For Proper Free Primary & Secondary Education

Social Democrats Tipperary branch is calling for proper free primary and secondary education.

The political party says this policy would cost 236 million euro and believe it’s a relatively small investment that would have a hugely positive impact on families struggling with the coat of living crisis.

The additional 2.5% fund for education would be the end of so-called voluntary contributions, removing fees for schoolbooks and uniforms; and making school transport permanently free.

The local branches says many political parties have called for supports but believe none of these go far enough to elevate the huge financial burden facing parents.
