Tipp Town Landmark Being Repainted This Week

A Tipperary Town Landmark building is being repainted this week in the existing “magnolia” colour. The Clock Tower on Mitchel Street is being painted by a local contractor hired by the property owners ALDI.

The tower dates from 1876 and is all that remains of the Town Hall, destroyed by fire in October 1941.

The red terracotta brick will remain untreated at this time. The adjacent wall bearing remnants of the red brickwork from the main building will also be repainted at this time.

The windows frames, door and tower vents will all be repainted white as at present.
