People in County Tipperary are being encouraged to register and donate blood as supplies remain very low.
The Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) says it is a very challenging time as there is an increase in demand – due to the HSE working through the backlog of patient treatments.
70% of blood donated is used for cancer treatment.
People can check their eligibility to donate blood by taking a short quiz on giveblood.ie.
There will be a clinic locally in the Canon Hayes Recreation Centre in Tipp Town on May 3rd, 4th and 5th between 4pm to 8pm.
