For the first time a time capsule section will be part of this years Census, it will take on Sunday evening, 3 April.
People will be able to write a voluntary and confidential message this will be securely stored for 100 years.
It was due last year but was postponed because of Covid-19.
There is a legal requirement for everyone in the country to fill in their information on form.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin says the Census provides a uniquely detailed account of our population.
