The local authority is committed to seek funding for Islands Project in Golden, following an unsuccessful town and village renewal scheme application.

Mr Coleman made the comments following the issue being raised by councillor Michael Fitzgerald.

Separately Anthony Coleman District Administrator was commended at yesterday’s monthly meeting of the Tipp Cahir Cashel MD following the successful funding boost of €500,000 for the Tipperary Hills.

The Tipperary Hills area is approximately 23 acres in size and includes walking paths, a pitch and putt course and St John’s Graveyard.

Cllr John Crosse praised the work of the members of the Pitch and Putt Club for their work and said that he had received an offer from a local business to sponsor some work in the Tipperary Hills.
