South Eastern Mountain Rescue Association responded to an injured walker in the Comeragh over the weekend.

SEMRA were tasked by An Garda Síochána to respond yesterday afternoon above the Kilclooney woods.

Initial assessment was carried out by SEMRA members until National Ambulance Service (NAS) personnel arrived at the casualty site and provided additional medical treatment.

The casualty was carefully packaged onto a stretcher and was carried by SEMRA members down off of the hill.

Wet and slippy ground conditions underfoot and thick gorse made the carryout challenging.
