The Glen Hotel, in Aherlow, Co. Tipperary is to be sold via online auction on 27th August.

The iconic hotel was well-known as a hugely popular hotel in the heart of the Glen of Aherlow, just outside Tipperary Town, as a popular venue for functions in the greater community, until its closure in the early ’00s.

The Hotel has since fallen into a state of considerable dereliction, as it has remained idle since its closure.

Liam O’Grady Auctioneers, Tipperary Town today announced that the Hotel is to go under the hammer via online auction on Friday, 27th August at 3 p.m.

The Glen Hotel features 22 ensuite bedrooms, a 75 seater restaurant, a 70 seat public bar, and 2 extensive ball/function rooms with 290 seat capacity.

Promises huge potential

According to the Auctioneer’s website: “The property has been vacant for a number of years, and has fallen into disrepair as a result, but promises huge potential for any commercial enterprise, benefiting from a wealth of local attractions including multiple golf courses (Tipperary and Ballykisteen), horse riding, quad biking, fishing, hill walking/hiking, as well as some exceptional examples of traditional Irish architecture in the most stunning scenery and countryside Inland Ireland has to offer”.
