March4Tipp, Tipperary Town Chamber and Jobs4Tipp have welcomed Deputy Michael Lowry’s proposal that a bypass of Tipperary Town should be urgently included as a standalone project in the review of the National Development Plan, as well as the Minister’s endorsement that the section around Tipperary should be the first element of the N24 realignment to be delivered.

The trio of Tipperary Town campaigners say they expect all Tipperary TDs to vigorously support the proposal and to work together to deliver on their pre-election promises of a ring-road/bypass of the town. A meeting is due to follow shortly between the Minister and Tipperary County Council, and they groups say they will be closely monitoring the situation.

The council have hired Consultants ARUP, to assess the Cahir to Limerick route issues and their latest update indicated the development of transportation solutions. which could include multiple route corridors, and is currently underway. It is expected to have potential options identified by the end of the 2nd quarter of 2021, and the company would hope to have a planning application ready by 2025.
