Acts of anti social behaviour are contributing to some local authority houses remaining vacant.

That was according to Cllr Michael Fitzgerald this week who told Tipp Mid West that some houses in Tipperary town stay boarded up because people are refusing to live in them over issues associated with anti-social behaviour in the areas concerned.

He made reference to the playing of loud music late at night, cars being revved at night time and the recent spate of stones being thrown at the windows of private residences.

Appealing to those responsible, Cllr Fitzgerald said that rules must be followed and courtesy must be shown to enable all people living in housing estates to live in peace.
