Gardai in Tipperary are advising householders to become more security-conscious as the longer, darker evenings approach.  Gardai also note that they are investigating a number of burglaries that have taken place in the wider area recently.

Meanwhile, the public is also being advised to be vigilant over the Hallowe’en period as children may be out and about trick or treating.  The public is also being asked to be aware of the danger of bonfires and to refrain from setting them.

This weekend will also see the US Secretary of State John Kerry arriving to receive the Tipperary International Peace Award.  The event takes place on Sunday morning at the Aherlow House Hotel.  Gardai will be operating a traffic management system in the area and a one-way system will be in place locally.  As a result motorists in the area may experience some disruption on Sunday morning.
