Increase in number of houses been repossessed in Co Tipperary

There has been a significant increase in the number of homes that have been repossessed through the country’s circuit courts, with a significant amount recorded in Co Tipp.  According to figures released by this morning’s Irish Times, more than 60 repossession orders are being granted every week that the courts sit.It means that the rate of repossession has almost trebled.
Nearly 900 homes were ordered to be repossessed in the circuit courts in the first six months of this year.  Last year, the number for the same period of time was 313.
Of that total, more than 600 were for primary residences.  284 were for buy-to-lets.
Cork had the highest number of repossessions with 123.  Dublin came next with 116.
45 repossessions occurred in Co Tipperary, giving the premier county one of the highest repossession levels in the country.
